Splitroo

Terms of Service

Effective 11 August 2026

1. Agreement

By using Splitroo, you agree to these terms. If you're using the app on behalf of a group of trip mates, you're responsible for making sure they're comfortable sharing trip and expense data with each other inside the app.

2. What the app does — and doesn't do

Splitroo helps you track shared trip expenses, calculate who owes whom, and record when settlements happen. It does not move money. UPI links and "mark as paid" confirmations are conveniences — the app never has access to your bank account and cannot itself send or receive a payment. You're always responsible for verifying a payment actually happened before marking it paid.

3. Accounts

You can use the app as a guest (local-only, no account) or sign in with an email code. You're responsible for keeping your sign-in secure. Guest data is not backed up automatically — if you uninstall the app without exporting or signing in, it may be unrecoverable.

4. Splitroo Plus and purchases

Some features (e.g. unlimited trips, advanced receipt scanning) require a Plus subscription or a one-time Trip Pass (5-day access), purchased through the App Store or Play Store. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple or Google under their own terms; refunds are requested through them, not us. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled through your App Store / Play Store account settings before the renewal date. If you sign out or switch accounts, use "Restore Purchases" on the Upgrade screen to re-link an existing purchase.

5. Accuracy of shared data

Expense amounts, splits, and balances are only as accurate as what trip members enter. Splitroo calculates balances and suggested settlements from that data but cannot verify it against reality — always sanity-check totals for anything high-stakes.

6. Acceptable use

Don't use Splitroo to store or share content that's illegal, abusive, or violates someone else's rights. Don't attempt to access another user's account or trip data you're not a member of.

7. Account closure

You can delete your account at any time from Account → "Delete Account". This permanently closes your sign-in; shared trip history remains visible to your former trip mates, since removing it would corrupt their records too.

8. Disclaimer and liability

Splitroo is provided "as is." We work to keep the app accurate and available, but we're not liable for disputes between trip members over money, missed payments, or decisions made based on the app's calculations.

9. Changes to these terms

If these terms change materially, we'll update the effective date above and, where required, notify you in-app.
