PDF Toolbox

Privacy Policy

Effective 20 October 2026

1. What this covers

This policy explains what PDF Toolbox collects, why, and how you can control it. PDF Toolbox is a set of PDF tools: merge, split, sign, organize, compress, rotate, image to PDF, scan to PDF, protect and unlock. There is no account or sign-up. Your files are processed on your device and are not uploaded to us or to any server.

2. Your files and data on your device

• The PDFs, images and scans you choose are read only when you pick them (through the system file picker, "Open with" or Share) and are processed locally.
• Finished results are kept in the app's private storage so you can find them under Recent files, until you clear them (Settings) or uninstall the app. Saving or sharing a result is your choice.
• Your saved signature image and your settings (theme, language) are stored locally.
• Passwords you type to protect or open a PDF are used on the device to perform that action and are never stored or sent anywhere.

Uninstalling PDF Toolbox deletes all of this. We keep no server-side copy because we never receive your files.

3. Camera and scanning

Scan to PDF uses Google's on-device document scanner (Google Play services). Scans stay on your device and are not sent to us. The app itself does not request camera permission.

4. Purchases and free trial

PDF Toolbox is free to try for 30 days. A one-time purchase unlocks saving and sharing afterwards. Purchases are processed entirely by Google Play, and we never see or store your payment details. We receive confirmation of whether a purchase exists. To keep the free trial from being restarted by reinstalling the app, the app checks a small record kept for the device with an anonymous identifier. It is not linked to your name or email.

5. Third-party services we use

• Google Play Billing: processes the one-time purchase.
• Firebase (Google): Remote Config, to show maintenance or "update required" messages; App Check, to confirm requests come from the genuine app; Analytics, for anonymous usage events such as which tool screens are opened; and Crashlytics, for crash reports. These services receive technical data such as your IP address, device model, operating system version and an anonymous app instance identifier. Analytics and crash reports do not include file names or file contents. See Google's Privacy Policy.

PDF Toolbox shows no ads, and we do not sell your data.

6. Your controls

You can clear recent results from Settings at any time, or delete everything by uninstalling the app. Because your files never leave your device, there is no server-side copy of them to delete. For questions about technical data held by Firebase, contact us and we will help with any request.

7. Data retention

Local data stays on your device until you clear it or uninstall the app. Analytics and crash data are retained by Firebase for its standard retention periods and are not linked to your identity.

8. Children

PDF Toolbox is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, we will update the effective date above and, where required, notify you in the app.
