Zplendi

This policy explains what Zplendi collects, why, and how you can control or remove it. Zplendi is a personal finance tracker — transactions, budgets, categories, accounts, and investments. There is no account or sign-up required to use it: everything you enter is stored locally on your device, and stays there unless you turn on the optional cloud backup described below.
• Transactions, budgets, categories, accounts, investments, and split-expense entries — stored locally in an on-device database.
• Receipt photos you attach to a transaction.
• Settings: theme, currency, notification preferences, and your name if you choose to enter one.
None of this leaves your device unless you enable cloud backup (section 4). Uninstalling Zplendi permanently deletes it.
The receipt scanner uses your camera or photo library only when you choose to scan a receipt. Text is extracted on-device using Google ML Kit's on-device text recognition — the receipt image itself is never sent to Google or any third party for this processing. The scanned image is then stored the same way as any other attached receipt photo: locally, and in your cloud backup if you have one turned on.
Zplendi Lifetime unlocks free, automatic backup of your data to your own cloud storage — Google Drive on Android, iCloud on iOS. This is a single backup file written to a private, per-app storage space (Drive's "app data" folder, or your device's private iCloud container) that only Zplendi can read — we cannot access it, and neither can any other app. On Android, this requires signing in with Google; that sign-in is used solely to authorize this private Drive access, nothing more. On iOS, it uses the iCloud account already signed into your device — no separate sign-in. Turning this off, or simply not enabling it, means your data never leaves your device at all.
Zplendi Lifetime is a one-time purchase made through the Apple App Store or Google Play. Purchases are processed entirely by Apple or Google — we never see or store your payment card details. The purchase is tied to your Apple ID or Google Play account, not to any account we hold, since we don't have accounts.
• Google Play Billing / Apple StoreKit — processes the one-time purchase.
• Google Drive / Apple iCloud — optional, user-controlled backup storage described in section 4.
• Firebase (Google) — two small things only: an anonymous device check used to detect trial abuse on reinstall (a small record per device, not linked to your name or email), and aggregated analytics on which features are used, so we know what to improve. Firebase is not required for Zplendi to work — every screen and calculation runs the same with or without it.
Zplendi has no ad network integrated, and we do not sell your data to anyone.
Because your data lives locally by default, uninstalling the app deletes all of it — there is no server-side copy to separately request deletion of. If you've enabled cloud backup, you can delete that backup file yourself at any time from your Google Drive or iCloud storage settings, or by turning backup off in Zplendi's Settings. Notification preferences can be changed from Settings at any time.
Local data persists on your device until you clear the app's storage or uninstall it. A cloud backup, if enabled, persists in your own Drive or iCloud storage until you delete it or turn backup off. We do not retain a separate copy of either.
Zplendi is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
If this policy changes materially, we'll update the effective date above and, where required, notify you in-app.
